About me

I'm Lilia, a certified therapist with a Master's in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. I’m based in Armenia, and I provide online therapy for clients from all backgrounds and nationalities. My working languages are English and Armenian.I was drawn to psychology through my own need to make sense of things: first within myself, then the people around me, then the structures that influence all of us. My own experience of having to figure out who I am outside of what's expected of me has shaped how I work by making me genuinely curious and open to perspectives that don't fit the norm. That openness is what helps me recognize where therapy can be a tool to make the world safer for everyone and where it needs improvement. I am continually learning and growing alongside my practice, as I try to contribute to the change I want to see.

What I can help with

I work with individual adult clients. My main area of expertise is the long-term impacts of trauma and adverse experiences, which can show up in daily life in many ways, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Dissociation or numbness

  • Burnout

  • Shame or low self-worth

  • Emotional outbursts

  • Feeling stuck or disconnected from purpose

  • Addictive behaviors

  • Stress-related physical symptoms like fatigue, tension, or gut issues

Beneath the surface of each of these struggles is a story of pain, protection, and survival. In therapy, we can start to transform these patterns by getting curious about them, uncovering their stories, and understanding what they're pointing to.

My approach

I work in a depth-oriented and relational way. My approach is based on Existential Therapy, Parts Work, and Trauma-Focused modalities. I often integrate tools from IFS (Internal Family Systems), Somatic Experiencing, and Coherence Therapy. What I'm always moving toward is the thing you've been keeping from yourself: the anger you've been pushing away, the thoughts you're not supposed to have, the grief that never had space to be felt. I'm interested in the parts of you that you've been avoiding, that learned to hide because it felt safer than being seen.I view most mental health struggles as responses to where something is going wrong - not just in our individual lives but also on a societal level. I believe therapy should not ask people to adapt better to systems that are genuinely causing harm. My goal is to create a space that gives clients permission to question anything that doesn't feel right and to start trusting themselves again.

Working with me

You can view my availability and current rates on my profile on the It's Complicated mental health platform. To get started, you can book a free 30-minute introductory session, where we'll talk about what kind of support you’re looking for and discuss if my approach is a good fit for your needs.Finding the right therapist is about more than credentials or techniques. Overall, this process should feel safe and supportive for you, because that's the only way real healing can happen. My approach tends to resonate most with people who are open to slowing down, listening inward, and letting the process naturally unfold. It’s not about forcing change through willpower; it’s about discovering what’s already happening within you and allowing change to emerge from that truth.
